TML Release Check setup and support
Last updated on October 4, 2026
TML Release Check is preparing for launch. Public installation is not yet available. These notes describe the app workflow being verified before launch.
Configure a release check
- Open TML Release Check from your Shopify admin after authorized installation.
- Choose the accessible draft theme to compare with your live Online Store. Add the important page paths you want checked, including an ordinary test product page.
- Select/configure a purchasable variant and expected cart quantity. Set supported storefront controls if your theme needs explicit configuration.
- Review the scope, then request a report. The app queues the work and runs Chromium desktop/mobile-width checks in isolated test sessions.
- Open the report to review timestamps, findings, screenshots, visual differences, and coverage. Investigate each FAIL and NOT TESTED before making a release decision.
- After you fix the theme yourself, rerun the saved scope. The app does not publish a theme or apply fixes.
The free pilot allows three report requests per shop in a rolling 30-day period. Reruns and failed/blocked requests use the same allowance. Reports and evidence expire after 14 days. Save any evidence you need before it expires, using the app’s supported access controls.
Read the results
PASS means the named check met its configured expectation in that run. FAIL means collected evidence shows an unmet expectation. NOT TESTED means an excluded, unsupported, blocked, or incomplete check; it is not a passing result. REVIEW means visual differences need human interpretation.
Mobile-width evidence is browser viewport emulation, not a real phone/Safari test. Changed pixels are evidence to inspect, not proof that a change is wrong. Dynamic content may cause differences. Payment, customer login, subscriptions, bundles, custom storefronts, and complex product/cart apps are outside the pilot.
Blocked or unsupported checks
Confirm the draft preview is accessible and the variant is purchasable. Bot challenges, store passwords/access restrictions, third-party app interruptions, invalid selectors, and network/browser failures can prevent testing. Do not disable merchant security or send credentials in email merely to make a check pass. Ask support about supported access/configuration instead.
A missing/unsupported cart control requires configuration or manual testing. The app’s browser uses only its test session cart and stops before checkout/payment.
